Moving cost estimates
Route costs are modeled from public interstate moving-industry rate tables: estimated shipment weight by home size, a per-pound full-service rate that scales with distance, and separate models for portable containers and rental trucks. Distances are computed from city coordinates and adjusted to real driving miles. Ranges reflect typical low and peak-season quotes and are estimates, not binding prices.
Mover listings
Moving companies are sourced from public business listings in each origin city and ranked by customer rating and review volume. Listings are informational; always verify a mover's active USDOT number and FMCSA complaint history before hiring.
Cost-of-living data
Median rent and household income figures come from the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey (ACS) 5-year estimates. State tax figures reflect published state income and sales tax rates.
